I Got Hacked, Instagram: The Journey Part 1

By December 31, 2021No Comments

Nov 27th my instagram was stolen by hackers. I received an email notifying me that someone tried to login. When I clicked on my app on my iPhone 13  I was unable to login. From there I clicked the email and was sent a link. By this time hackers changed my Instagram from @TheShredneck to @TheShredneck7, @TheShredneck77, Finally to @TheShredneck47. They stole it for there Forex scams.

“NO I DON’T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH FOREX, I HATE THAT SHIT AND THEIR SHIT CULTURE”

As you can imagine if you’ve ever tried to do anything with Meta/ Facebook/ Instagram with an actual person. GOOD LUCK! Mind you yes I did have 2FA ( 2 factor authentication ) enabled. That doesn’t stop them. I went to their site for help and they only have articles with zero solutions if you get hacked. If you want to talk to a real human, good luck.

A few hours later I received numerous direct messages, emails, etc from people that could help recover. Some asked for $40 while others wanted over $500. Here’s the kicker, they all request payment in advance with unsecured funds, Zelle, Bitcoin, CashApp, PayPal family and friends. What I discovered is often the hackers have multiple accounts and message you from other accounts offering to recover for a fee. Don’t fall for it, it’s another scam. Anyone that is a legit business will have a website, reviews, contact information, and you should be able to speak with them on the phone.

By not having legitimate support Instagram has become a haven for hackers, thief, scam artists, and cyber criminals. They are doing nothing to stop, prevent, or fix the solution. There’s also a network of high ticket ( 2k-10K) recovery services. Which according to Meta/ Facebook/ Instagram employment terms employees are prohibiting from doing such or having any prior knowledge of service providers offering said services.

The problem with these platforms is they’re too big, they own too many, and they play by their own rules. Certain accounts are shutdown from advertising while other’s break the rules. They don’t have any support so hackers and scams run rampant on here. There’s zero security let alone accountability

My solution to the problem and as a candidate is the creation of a bipartisan committee to regulate these companies. Enough is enough it’s time to put our feet down. #zuckerbergforpriso
